About Your Therapist

I am trained as a Counselling Psychologist and have been a therapist for over 40 years. I use an Integrative approach to therapy incorporating Psychodynamic, CBT and Systems theoretical underpinning. Initially trained as a Relate counsellor, I have worked with both couple and individual counselling in the UK, Germany, Hong Kong, and Thailand.

My experience encompasses marital and relationship issues including domestic abuse, sexual difficulties, separation and divorce, family issues and changes due to retirement and growing old in a relationship; individual concerns including childhood sexual abuse, self-esteem and confidence issues, anxiety, depression, loss, bereavement, and trauma; and employment issues including stress at work, workplace relationships, job stagnation and change possibilities.

My experience of working abroad has enabled me to take into consideration the importance of a settled and safe environment. I am particularly aware of cultural differences and culture shock which may exacerbate other issues involved in managing change. Therefore, clients experiencing expatriation and repatriation concerns are very welcome in addition to clients experiencing their very own unique and personal issues.

I am a military veteran and have experience in working therapeutically with the military and veterans and their families. I have trained in Military TRiM (Trauma Risk Management).
